This is a really good show, I highly recommend it. The subject matter could have made it just too depressing, however the quality of the acting, story telling and production made it something really special and thought provoking. The lead actress is brilliant, along with very strong supporting cast. It clearly is based on a true story which makes it even more poignant but also bringing in interesting story telling devices throughout which really work and elevate to more of a film quality than your average netflix drama. The reality it paints for abused women - those without money, education, family support or other advantages in life - has really stayed with and made me feel alot more empathy and understanding of their situation. It is also easy to see how the other characters are also victims of their own upbringing and circumstance, creating a cycle of poverty and abuse which is hard to escape. Definitely watch this show - you won't be disappointed.

Loved this new series on Netflix. Alex-Margaret's work is awesome. My daughter too turned 3 this September and I was so able to relate to that part of it, also the little girl was so so cute.
Its difficult not to like Sean - Nick, he is sweet human being just caught up in a bad phase of life but I loved him.
Adie-Paula : OMG she is such an amazing actress, while watching I was wondering that the mother daughter casting is perfect and they do look alike a lot, and when I found out they are mother-daughter in real life too, I was even happier :)
Loved the way, the small moments of happiness, shock and sadness are presented in the series. Simply loved it may be due to the simplicity of the story and no vulgarity as such.
When times are tough, it is difficult to follow the principles but the way Alex conducts herself is simply awesome. Commendable acting by almost everyone.... 100% recommend anyone to watch :) Hope to see Alex and Sean in more such series
